Wed 2 Apr 2025 - Enchufe doble, Enchufe con Mambo, Adios con la Hermana

Another great week dancing together! This week so many people stayed after class and we danced circle after circle. We learned some variations this week of moves we've done before. And as always we reviewed everything we've learned previously including P'al Medio & Tiempo España. Watch the videos below so you can practice our new moves at home.

Enchufe doble: Our first enchufe variation that builds on a previous move. With enchufe doble you start just like a normal enchufe but then go back to starting position before doing another enchufe. It ends with a partner change (dame) just like regular enchufe.

Enchufe con Mambo: This enchufe variation starts like normal enchufe and just includes a mambo step before moving on to partner change (dame) just like regular enchufe. The mambo step is 8 tap-step combos starting with your normal starting foot - left for leads & right for follows.

Adios con la Hermana: This move combines adios and enchufe. It's different from both in that it does not involve a partner change! You start with adios and then the lead turns his/her back to the middle of the circle and does an enchufe with the follow, finishing with a dame with the same partner.

Posting again this super-fun video of a fabulous rueda dance team in Cuba. You'll see Ryan Mead dancing in the vid - he's one of the best rueda teachers around, from San Francisco, and he leads tours in Cuba where you learn from this dance group.
