Wed 27 Aug 2025 - Level 1: Enchufe, Level 2: Setenta Corona
For next week (Weds 27 Aug) we will try something new! We'll show you how to use some of the moves you already know to partner dance one-on-one (and not part of a rueda circle!) It's a great way to build confidence in your dance ability, have fun when no one is calling a rueda, and get to know your fellow dancers. Don't worry! This is still a rueda class and that's what we will focus on. But we'd like to add this extra one-on-one dancing occasionally too.
In addition to the one-on-one workshop next week, we will also teach new rueda moves too. Level 1 will learn Enchufe & Enchufe doble, while level 2 will learn a new setenta move - Setenta corona.
Setenta Corona: Our 2nd Setenta move! There are many more! This one starts like regular setenta (70) with a hammerlock turn for the follows and both partners returning to their original positions. But after the first enchufe where the follow ends up on the lead's right, then the lead does a head loop with lead's right hand over the follow's head and then an exhíbela for the follow. The move ends with the lead doing a head loop over lead's own head with right hand, and a dile que no. The two head loops gave the move it's name Corona (crown.)

Dame: (Scroll down to see detailed step-by-step video.) Switch partners by lead bringing partner on right over to left. Dame is the same as Dile Que No - dame is what we call in a rueda circle and dile que no is what is done dancing one-on-one.
