Wed 24 Sep 2025 - Level 1: Enchufe, Level 2: El Uno y El Dos

For next week (Weds 24 Sep) we will use our regular class format: 30 mins beginners class at 6pm followed by Level 1 & Level 2 from 6:30-7:30.

We'll learn Enchufe & Enchufe doble in level 1, and we'll learn El Uno y El Dos in level 2.  New moves!

Level 1 - Enchufe & Enchufe Doble

Enchufe: Enchufe (or Enchufla) is one of many rueda moves that involves switching partners. It's also one of the first moves that people learn in Rueda de Casino.

Enchufe Doble: Enchufe Doble is one of the many variations of Enchufe. We'll teach them all!

Level 2 - El Uno y El Dos

El Uno: This fundamental move brings something new to our dancing - repeated hammerlock moves for the follow going in front of the lead. Both partners remember to use "enchufe steps" - always going forward and never sideways or backwards. El Uno can be done on its own or combined with El Dos.

El Dos: Now it's the lead's turn to be in front of the follow! Same thing - both partners remember to step forward and not sideways or backwards. El Dos ends with a sombrero. It can be done by itself though more commonly after El Uno.

Uno y Dos: Let's combine the moves!  In this video, you'll see El Uno by itself then El Dos, and finally Uno y Dos.

Beginners - Welcome! Guapea & Dame are your foundational moves

Guapea: Basic move in rueda (cuban style salsa dancing)

Dame: (Scroll down to see detailed step-by-step video.) Switch partners by lead bringing partner on right over to left. Dame is the same as Dile Que No - dame is what we call in a rueda circle and dile que no is what is done dancing one-on-one.

Dame: (Detailed step-by-step video, start at 2:00)
